Warrant Article 1 - Operating Budget

The proposed budget is $67,509,020. The budget maintains current staffing, class sizes, maintenance and operations. If this article fails, the default budget is $67,596,534.

Warrant Article 2 - Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Hudson School Board and PSRPs

The two-year agreement increases the salaries for Paraeducators and Food Service Workers, and will help the district be more competitive with surrounding school districts. Changes to the contract include a $3 per hour increase for existing staff in year 1, $1.25 per hour in year 2, creation of a new category of full-time paraeducator and transitioning positions starting with Alvirne in year 1 and HMS in year 2. Cost for 2024-25 is $751,496 and cost for 2025-26 is $364,152. Warrant Article 3 - Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Hudson School Board and AFSCME

A two-year contract with AFSMCE which includes Principals, Assistant Principals, Directors, Department Heads, Psychologists and School Counselors​. Includes an increase of 2.75% in each year. Cost breakdown: 2024-25 - $155,027 and for 2025-26 - $159,290. (Estimated tax impact: $0.03)

Warrant Article 4 - Roof Replacement at Dr. H.O. Smith Elementary School

Replaces a portion of the roof at the Dr. H.O. Smith Elementary School for $250,000 with a new white fully-adhered membrane roof with a 20-year labor/materials warranty.

Funding to come from the Schools Renovations capital reserve fund established in March 1999 and no amount to be raised by additional taxation. (Estimated tax impact: $0.00)

Warrant Article 5 - Science Labs at Hudson Memorial School

Raises $200,000 to replace two more science labs at Hudson Memorial School out of a total of eight that need renovation. Two labs were renovated in 2023 after the warrant article was passed in March of 2023, leaving 6 classroom spaces to be renovated.

Warrant Article 6 - Renovate the Checkers Kitchen at Alvirne High School

Raised $250,000 to renovate the former Checkers Kitchen at Alvirne High School to make it useable for the school's food service program, which provides meals preparation and service for over 450 students each day. This would allow that kitchen to be updated, and the primary kitchen operations would be moved to this renovated space. The current, small kitchen would be used as a satellite kitchen.

Warrant Article 7 - Replace Hallway Flooring at Hudson Memorial School

Raises $94,000 to replace all of the hallway flooring at the Hudson Memorial School. Current flooring has been patched in numerous places, but continues to crack, which makes the flooring surfaces uneven and creates a potential tripping hazard.

Warrant Article 8 - Establish a Capital Reserve Account for Alvirne Farm

Establishes a new capital reserve account for Alvirne Farm to support repairs, improvements and maintenance of the farm buildings and grounds. Initial funding of $150,000 for this account to come from fund balance.

Petition submitted to change the voting day from March to April, if both articles passed on the Town and School sides. This article is not recommended by the School Board.
