The Hudson School District has many standing committees set by district policy or created by the Hudson School Board. Committee membership varies based on the committee.

District Committees

Capital Improvement Committee

The Capital Improvement Committee includes district administration, two school board representatives and a community member. The committee meets a few times a year, as needed.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee includes teachers and staff from each school building, a parent representative and two school board members. The committtee meets once a month during the school year.

Policy Committee

The Policy Committee reviews district policies based on changes to Federal and state laws and regulations. The committee makes policy recommendations to the School Board. Members of the Policy Committee includes district administration and two school board members.

Strategic Planning Steering Committee

The original strategic plan was created in 2019. The strategic planning steering committee will resume in fall 2023 and be comprised of district administrators, teachers, staff, parents, community members and two school board members.

Wellness Committee

The Wellness Committee is defined by policy JLCF Wellness and includes periodic reviews of goals for nutrition promotion, education and physical activity. The committee meets at least three times during the school year. Staff appointments to the committee are made by the superintendent and the School Board Chair appoints one School Board member.

Community Committees

As part of the Hudson School Board's goal of continuous engagement with the community, school board members are assigned to several organizations outside the district.

Alvirne Trustees

The Alvirne Trustees are stewards of the remaining Hills Family Trust that established Alvirne High School in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The trustees support Alvirne High School each year by supporting special projects, including equipment and renovations to the Alvirne farm. A school board member attends Alvirne Trustee monthly meetings.

Budget Committee

The Hudson Budget Committee has nine members that are elected for three-year terms. They are responsible for preparing and presenting the town and school district budgets. One Hudson School Board member serves on the Budget Committee and there is one alternate member. Agendas and minutes are available on the Budget Committee website.

Hudson Board of Selectmen

The Hudson Board of Selectmen meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Town Hall. One school board member is a liason to the Board of Selectmen. Agendas, minutes and schedules are available on the Town of Hudson website.
