Hudson Memorial School held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on the morning of May 22 at the school. Students, families, and veterans attended the event, which included a performance by the HMS band and a moment of silence. Also, Mr. Seckla was surprised at the beginning of the ceremony and was named the New Hampshire Band Directors Association's Outstanding Band Director of the Year.
The school has hosted this event every year to honor local veterans and help the town community connect with the school. The ceremony in its entirety was filmed by Hudson Community Television, and a recording can be found here or by clicking the image below.
In the latest edition of Hudson School District's Faculty Q&A, Dr. H.O. Smith's administrative assistant, Mrs. Romano, was featured. Denise has worked in a few schools in the district throughout her time in Hudson and discussed how her career and role have evolved over time. She also talks about her love for the New Hampshire outdoors and why her school community is so tight-knit.
Superintendent Moulis, Hudson Memorial School Principal Keith Bowen, and HMS teachers Kim Bourassa and Leonie Kirby recently sat down at the HCTV studios to talk about the school's annual 8th-grade trip to Washington, D.C., which has become a longstanding tradition in the town of Hudson.
The group talked about the experiences that the students enjoy, the knowledge they bring back with them, and how the memories are now shared throughout generations.
WMUR's New Hampshire Chronicle recently came to Hudson to film a feature on the Gateways Adult Day Center and its relationship with The Palmer Center at Alvirne and its students. The full piece can be seen here or by clicking the image.
The Digital Media program at The Palmer Center at Alvirne worked with the SAU to create a teacher interview series that has been released on the district's YouTube and social media channels. Hills Garrison's Kate Boucher, Alvirne's Andrew Rush, and Hudson Memorial's Jaryt Salvo were all featured. You can watch the videos by clicking the image or going to the district's YouTube page.
