HUDSON, N.H. -- A champion in the field of managing anxiety, Lynn Lyons, LICSW, is set to visit Steckevicz Gymnasium at Alvirne High School on Aug. 22 for a special guest speaker presentation titled, "Modeling Matters: What Parents Need to Know (and Do) to Decrease Stress, Worry, and Anxiety."
A psychotherapist, author, and speaker in private practice for over 30 years, Lyons specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults and children. She travels globally as a speaker and trainer on the subject of anxiety, its role in families, and the need for a preventative approach at home and in schools.
Her latest book, The Anxiety Audit, looks at the 7 sneaky ways that anxiety and worry weave their way into our families, our friendships, and our jobs, and provides actionable steps to reverse the cycle and reclaim our emotional well-being. With a special interest in breaking the generational cycle of worry in families, she is the co-author with Reid Wilson of two books on anxiety: Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents: 7 Ways to Stop the Worry Cycle and Raise Courageous & Independent Children, and the companion book for kids, Playing with Anxiety: Casey’s Guide for Teens and Kids.
