HUDSON, N.H. – The Hudson School District has cemented its senior leadership team, as it has hired Jessica Benson as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and extended the contract of Superintendent Daniel Moulis, as announced Friday by the District.
Benson comes to Hudson after she most recently served as the principal at Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond after she spent four years in the Windham School District, which included roles as the Director of English Language Arts (5-12), Interim Assistant Principal at Golden Brook School, and Director of Curriculum (K-4). She began her career with the Hooksett School District as an ESOL teacher and then held titles as an English Language Arts teacher and Director of Supplemental Services & Literacy with the Derry Cooperative School District.
Benson’s educational accolades include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a Master of Science in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Southern New Hampshire University.
“We are fortunate to have Ms. Benson as the newly hired assistant superintendent,” said Moulis. “Her extensive career and educational knowledge will be a good benefit to advance curriculum, instruction, and assessment goals and priorities.”
Following his second academic year as superintendent of schools, Moulis’ contract was extended unanimously by the School Board through June 2027. Moulis has now held the title of superintendent for seven consecutive years, as he came to Hudson originally after he served in the same role with the Barrington School District.
“The School Board is committed to improving student academic performance, the recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers and staff, collaboration and positive growth for the Hudson School District,” said School Board Chair Maureen Dionne. “We are happy to have Superintendent Moulis’ continued leadership in these efforts. Since assuming the position two years ago, he has excelled in his commitment to the students and staff and the Board’s decision reflects our confidence in his ability to lead the district. The School Board looks forward to the implementation of a new strategic plan and believes he is the best person to provide stability and continuous progress toward achieving the district’s goals.”
Moving into the 2024-2025 school year the district is looking to capitalize on recent progress while striving for growth in other areas.
“With the hiring of Jessica Benson and the contract extension of Superintendent Moulis, the School Board thinks we have a great leadership team and are in the best position to move the Hudson School District forward into the future,” said Dionne.
Following the summer recess, Hudson School District is set to reopen its doors for students with Aug. 26 set as the first day of school.
