Superintendent Update - March 15, 2024

Cabaret Tickets are on Sale Now for This Weekend’s Shows!

Tickets for the Alvirne music department’s largest annual event, Cabaret, are now on sale.  Every March, we transform the high school gym into a performance venue with three stages, table seating with snacks, and awesome decorations (this year’s decorations were all designed by our Tri M Music Honor Society students).

This year’s theme for Cabaret is Music: The “Universe”-al Language.  Our performances will explore the mysteries and beauty of the universe, nature, the cosmos, and – maybe, just maybe – a little Earth, Wind, and Fire (and water).

Don’t miss your chance to hear our talented musicians in their element in a show that experts are hailing as a real force of nature.

After-Hours Math Support Program

Hudson School District is now offering after-hours math support throughout March for students in grades 5-7 and 8-12 through virtual sessions via Teams.

Sessions are set to take place between 5:30-7:30 pm each Tuesday and Thursday during the month. The grades 8-12 session is being instructed by Alvirne High School math department chair, Shannon McCarthy. The grades 5-7 sessions are being divided between teachers Beth Ide and Stephanie Richard with Ide set to instruct the Thursday editions, while Richard teaches the Tuesday classes.

The program was implemented based on feedback received from families regarding the need for additional support with homework and problem-solving.
