Superintendent Update - November 16, 2023

Families, Staff, & Community -

Snow Days

It is the time of year when snow days are on the horizon. The school district has five snow days built into the calendar. Similar to last year the district will utilize both traditional snow days and remote learning days. If a remote learning day is the decision, I will make every effort to ensure that the call is determined the day before for teachers, staff, students, and families to prepare for remote learning. Principals will communicate the school remote learning schedule in advance.

Many people enjoy a snow day, especially when you get to go outside and enjoy the snow. A classic snow day will be decided based upon weather conditions and the ability to prepare for remote learning. Schools will share more details on remote learning schedules within the next few weeks. Hopefully the snow calls will not occur in the near future.

School Events

When we return from Thanksgiving break, many events will be occurring at the schools including winter band and chorus concerts, sports events, and co-curricular activities. Please check the school calendars and school district calendar for upcoming school events. As a reminder, please check the athletic calendars at Hudson Memorial School and Alvirne High School.

I want to wish our students, families, teachers, staff, and community a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the Thanksgiving break!
