Superintendent Update - September 14, 2023

Families & Staff -

This has been our first five-day week of school and learning is in full swing throughout the district.

This email includes:

  • School Safety
  • State of the Town with the School District & Town of Hudson – September 28
  • Library Card Sign Up Month – Rodgers Memorial Library

School Safety Information

School safety is the district’s highest priority. The district works closely with the Hudson Police Department and the Hudson Fire Department to evaluate our procedures and processes. Last January, the NH Department of Homeland Security conducted reviews of each of our schools and provided feedback. Overall, the results were excellent and we have followed up on the recommended areas of improvement.

Many people think of catastrophic events when it comes to school safety, but more likely realistic situations are a fox on a playground or the failure of a heating system during frigid weather. Please review the school safety information on our website, which provides more details and what to do in case of an emergency situation. This information will also be sent home next week with all students in preschool through grade 8. If you have any questions, please contact the main office of your child’s school.

State of the Town with the School District & Town of Hudson – September 28

On Thursday, September 28, the School District & Town of Hudson will host a joint “State of the Town” meeting at the Barnyard Café in the Palmer Center at Alvirne High School. This meeting will be a drop-in format with district and town staff sharing information and answering questions from 6:30 to 8:30pm. We hope to see you there.

Library Card Sign Up Month – Rodgers Memorial Library

September is “Library Card Sign Up Month” and the Rodgers Memorial Library is reminding all Hudson residents and people who work in Hudson about the valuable resources available with a library card. Signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning for students. Sign up and learn more at www.rodgerslibrary.org

Have a good weekend.
