Superintendent Update - August 7, 2023

Families -

It always amazes me how fast summer goes by and that in three short weeks we will start the new school year. Our facilities and maintenance department has been busy with many projects, including a new roof at Library Street School, school security upgrades that were recommended in the most recent NH Department of Homeland Security report and a major paving project at the district office.

This email includes:

  • PowerSchool Upgrade
  • Teacher & Classroom Assignments
  • Fun News

PowerSchool Upgrade

One major summer project was an upgrade to PowerSchool, which will improve our data security and functionality. The only change for parents & guardians is a new link to the portal. It has been updated on district websites: https://sau81.powerschool.com/public/home.html

Teacher & Classroom Assignments

School teams are working on classroom placement and student schedules, which will be available on Tuesday, August 15. Parents & guardians will need to complete the “Handbook and Policy Review Process” to be able to view assignments and schedules.

A link to this process will be shared later this week. Please note you will need to use the PowerSchool Parent portal for access. If you need help with your username and/or password, please contact your child’s school.

Fun News

Alvirne High School student Jacob Gibson was working at Alvirne last week when Rob Gronkowski and Rob Ninkovich stopped by for a passing competition for their podcast. The story has been shared on social media and WMUR.

Hudson Old Home Days is being held August 10-13 this year. I’ll be there at Noon on August 12 – please stop by and say hello.
