Superintendent Update - May 4, 2023

Families & Staff -

I hope everyone had a good break and is ready for the last six weeks of school!

The last day of school is Monday, June 19 for students and Tuesday, June 20 for staff.

This update contains:

  • Safety of School Data & Information
  • Communication Survey for Families

Safety of School Data & Information

This week brought news that a local school district had a ransomware attack and had its data compromised. They are working with a vendor to gain access to their information and understand the depth of the breach.

Our Information Technology Department has systems in place to keep staff and student data secure. One of the most important aspects is to filter outside information before it reaches an individual student or staff member. The district partners with vendors that are experts in the latest in cyber security protocols as well as proactively testing our network for vulnerabilities. The district follows best practices in keeping our systems safe.

Communication Survey for Families

The district has several different ways to share information with families. We are constantly looking at ways to improve, ideally sharing the “right” information in the right format. Please take a few minutes to provide feedback and fill out our Communication Survey. The survey is anonymous and will close on Wednesday, May 17.

Have a good weekend.
