No School Tuesday/Election Day

Just a reminder that the school district and town election was rescheduled for Tuesday, March 28 at the Hudson Community Center and Alvirne High School. It will be a workshop day for teachers and no school for students.

Detailed election information, regarding the proposed Alvirne renovation, the teachers’ contract, district operating budget and other warrant articles, is available on the district website.

2023-2024 School Calendar

The School Board approved next year’s school calendar at its last meeting. The first day of school is August 28.

Junior Citizen of the Year

I’d like to congratulate Mansi Mathur, a senior at Alvirne High School, for being recognized as the Junior Citizen of the Year by the Hudson Chamber of Commerce. Mansi is the president of DECA, the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. She is also the president of the Bring Change to Mind club, which focuses on mental health stigma, and she volunteers at the NH Teen Institute and works at Dartmouth Hitchcock. Mansi will be recognized at the Chamber’s awards dinner on April 4.

NH Department of Education Summer Camp

For the third year in a row, the New Hampshire Department of Education is partnering with New Hampshire camps and school-age summer programs across the state to offer students the opportunity to be a kid. Details of the program are available on the NH Department of Education website.

Please note the district will NOT be offering Summer Scholars this year. The program was created using a federal grant to help students with learning loss that occurred due to the pandemic.

Have a good weekend.
