Superintendent Conversations

On Wednesday, November 16, I will host two chats with families and community members. The first will be at 9am via Zoom. The second will be in the cafeteria at the Early Learning Center at Library Street at 6:30pm. I’ll provide an update on various things happening in the district and I would love to hear your feedback.

I also plan to host a series of meetings with families after the holidays.

Safety Walkthroughs

The safety of staff and students is our #1 priority. Yesterday, Hudson Police Chief Dionne and I conducted walk throughs of Alvirne High School and Hudson Memorial School, checking doors, cameras and for other potential issues. We’ll continue to visit schools in advance of a formal assessment by the NH Department of Homeland Security in January.

No School Tuesday, November 8 – Election Day

Tuesday, November 8 is election day and there is no school for students. Staff will have a professional learning day. Alvirne High School is one of two voting locations. Election information is available on the town’s website.

No School Friday, November 11 – Veterans Day

Schools will be closed on Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Thank you to all who have served.

Alvirne FFA Wins Big

Alvirne’s FFA veterinary science and forestry teams competed at the 95th Annual National FFA Convention last week. Veterinary science took FIRST PLACE out of 45 teams! Several students were recognized in the individual competitions. Congratulations to everyone involved – it’s a fantastic accomplishment! Learn more

Budget Process

The School Board has reviewed the proposed school district budget at the last several board meetings. On Monday, November 7, the board will make final decisions before it goes to the Budget Committee. The board appreciates feedback. Budget information is available on the website.

Change Clocks This Weekend

Just a reminder to set your clocks back by one hour on Sunday, November 6 at 2am.

Enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
