This is the end of our first full week of school. I’ve been to all the schools and it’s amazing how kids adapt to being back at school – it feels so much more normal than last year. It’s been a long 18 months for everyone and we’re going to take these next few weeks to build routines and let students get to know each other.

This email includes:

*Masks

*COVID Communication

Masks

Yesterday I changed the status to “required” to wear masks for all ages. I know many will cheer this and many will be angry. We’re doing our best to adapt all the guidelines to what is happening in Hudson and based on the current cases.

Staff at all levels are being advised to offer masks breaks – not 20 seconds but not two hours either. While I know that people want exact information, there needs to be some common sense based on the size of the room, number of people in the room and ventilation. If people have questions, please contact your building principal.

COVID Communication

There is a COVID Protocols page on our website. This page has:

* Current status for masks

* # of positives in the district, by school

* All the COVID protocols including attendance

Note that we have already had several COVID+ cases this past week. Notification was only sent to close contacts.

I hope everyone is doing okay after the remnants of Ira came through. We could all use a few dry, sunny days that aren’t 90+ degrees.

Have a good, long weekend!
