Schoology

This year, the district adopted Schoology, a learning management system. We’ve been methodically building skills and rolling out access. On Tuesday, February 1, parents and guardians with a PowerSchool account will receive an email invitation to join Schoology. Parents and guardians will be able to sign in and view their students’ assignments and missing work. Features will vary depending on the grade level.

Schoology has many great features for collaboration and groups, which we look forward to introducing as people become familiar with it. More information will be included in next week’s update.

COVID-19 Vaccine Sites

The state of NH has several walk-in sites that offer vaccinations and boosters including one off of Amherst Street in Nashua. The NH vaccine website offers locations in and around Hudson with appointments.

School District Budget – Deliberative Session

On January 13, the Hudson Budget Committee reduced the proposed school district budget by $650,000. The district has compiled a list of cuts, which are mostly proposed teacher and staff positions. (Please note this DOES NOT mean layoffs of staff.)

The deliberative session will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 9am at the Hudson Community Center. Registered voters debate each item on the warrant, with a potential for increases or decreases. If there are proposed changes, the voters in attendance decide what appears on the ballot.

More details about the budget are available on the district’s website.

Raising Kids in the Digital Age

The Hudson School District is offering a series of webinars on “Raising Kids in the Digital Age.” The recording and information on future webinars is available on the district website under Parents/Raising Kids in the Digital Age.

The word of the weekend: bombogenesis. Just how big will the nor’easter be?

Stay safe. Stock up on bread, milk and plenty of cookies.
