11/2024 Scholarship Newsletter PDF version

I hope the beginning of senior year is going well! We are excited to post our first newsletter on Schoology and on our website. There are few scholarships listed below, but most will be coming out after Christmas Break.

For scholarships, all students will apply through the Counseling office, or you can download the applications from Naviance: go to Colleges, Scholarships and Money then Scholarship Search and you will see the application link to a website to download the application. Once you complete an application, please bring your completed application to counseling. We will then include your transcript and letters of recommendation and send them to the organization that sponsors the scholarship. We can use the letters of recommendation that your teachers wrote for college applications, but some organizations require a letter from someone outside of the school, like a letter from a coach, employer or someone you do community service with.

Please pay attention to the deadlines. Most of the deadlines are in March and April, but some are due earlier. Please use the deadline on the Newsletter, not the one in the application. We need time to process your application. You don't have to wait until the deadline to turn applications in, there will be many applications after Christmas break, so if you can get these early ones completed now, you’ll have more time to work on the others.

It is helpful to keep copies of the essays you write for applications. Some of the essay questions are very similar and with a little editing you can use that essay for more than one scholarship.

Please make sure you have your notifications for Schoology on, there will lots of senior information and scholarship information coming out through Schoology.

Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce - Junior Citizen Award

  • Seniors who exhibit a positive impact through volunteering and giving back to the community are invited to apply.
  • Application is available on Naviance
  • Due in counseling on 1/13/2025

Jonathan P. Gove Memorial Scholarship

  • Seniors in good standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5 are invited to apply
  • Applications are avilable at www.jonathangove.org
  • Due in counseling on 3/21/2025

William Loeb Athlete Scholar Award

  • Seniors who display an outstanding balance of academic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments are eligible to apply
  • If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, you must have a letter from both Mr. Beals and Ms. Bonney, please ask them soon to ensure they can have the letter ready in time to meet the deadline.

  • Due in counseling on 1/5/2025

William Loeb Educational Grant

  • Seniors planning on majoring in journalism are eligible to apply
  • Award is based on the essay, not GPA or need
  • Applications are available on Naviance
  • Due in counseling on 4/1/2025

Souhegan Valley Rotary Club Scholarship

  • Seniors planning on majoring in skilled trades are invited to apply (example but not limited to: Nursing, Automotive, Culinary, Criminal Justice or Paralegal)
  • Applications are available on Naviance
  • Due in counseling on 5/2/2025
