HiSET Information

NH High School Equivalency

The High School Equivalency Testing (HiSET) Program gives adults and out-of-school youth an opportunity to demonstrate their academic skills and to earn the New Hampshire High School Equivalency Certificate.

Students 16 and 17 years old will be able to register to take HiSET® tests only by completing the Request to Waive Age Requirement for High School Equivalency Exam (see waiver above) form, which requires the following:

  • Documentation that the student is prepared to take the HiSET® section as demonstrated through a score of Prepared or Well Prepared on the applicable HiSET® test section.
  • Permission from the superintendent or his/her designee to take the HiSET® test.
  • Permission from a parent/guardian.

Students should consult their school counselor to determine if this is the appropriate pathway for them. The School Counselor will review the options the student has upon successful completion of the HiSET Exam.
