On Time to School

Now that the time has changed for daylight savings time and we welcome more student drivers, we want to emphasize the importance of ensuring students arrive at school on time. Here are a couple of key points to keep in mind:

1. New Drivers: As sophomores turn 16 and begin driving to school, we anticipate an increase in the number of vehicles in the parking lot. Please remind your new drivers to leave a bit earlier to account for potential delays.

2. Crowded Parking Lot: The parking lot can become quite busy, especially during peak times. Planning ahead and allowing extra time for drop-off can help alleviate stress and ensure a timely arrival.

Thank you for understanding the importance of being on time.

Air Force Academy and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Presentation

On Thurs 3/13, Colonel (Ret) Kevin Grady will provide an informative presentation on the Air Force Academy and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). The presentation will take place in the AFJROTC classroom (WP102) during FLEX. While the presentation will focus on Air Force opportunities, many of the details are applicable to other Service Academies and ROTC programs. This event can also help students better understand the congressional nomination process.

Any AHS student is welcome to attend. Their home base teacher can schedule your student for Flex on Tuesday, 3/13 in room WP102. Students can also drop by AFJROTC, and the AFJROTC teachers will schedule them.

American Humanities Students Reach to Students at the Early Learning Center

Mrs. Denis' American Humanities class went to the Early Learning Center to read to students in kindergarten and 1st grade. It was a wonderful opportunity for high school students and early learners to interact in a positive way. One high school student and their first-grade teacher recognized each other. What a great opportunity for that student to demonstrate the skills they started learning early in their school years, and for that teacher to see what an impact they made on that student. This was a great experience for all!

Hiking Club Adventures

Mr. Dufault and the Hiking Club went on a sunset hike up to Lonesome Lake in Franconia Notch! The hike offered breathtaking views of Franconia Ridge and a walk across the frozen lake!
