After-Hours Math Support

We are pleased to share that the Hudson School District is going to offer after-hours math support through the month of March as follows:

After-Hours Remote Math Support

Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 5, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 pm via Teams.

Shannon McCarthy, the Alvirne math department chair will be the support provider for students in grades 8-12.  The upper elementary and middle school, grades 5-7 will also offer support at the same time with a different staff member.

Based on feedback we received from families regarding the need for additional support with homework and problem solving, we are excited to be able to provide this resource. It is our hope that students will engage in this free support. Parents will play a vital role in helping us get your students connected to their math learning after hours. Please use the Team's link provided here for math help for students in grades 8-12. A separate Team's link will be provided for grades 5-7.

Winter Remediation

Winter remediation will conclude this week with the final after-school sessions taking place on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Please continue to encourage your student to finish this session strong to set a positive foundation for future progress!

Student/Family Handbook Highlight

Today’s student/family handbook highlight is in response to Principal Beals’ email regarding the flex intervention for tardiness to school that will begin on Wednesday, March 6. The Hudson School Board, in Policy Code JH, Attendance, Tardiness, and Truancy, states, “Tardiness is a disruption to the educational process. It sets a tone that de-values education, detracts from the lesson, is discourteous to the teacher and other students and results in a loss of instructional time.” To read the full policy, please click here. All School Board policies can be found in the policy folder in the Student/Family Handbook.

Enjoy the week!
