Unified track will start in the first week of April. there will be an announcement at school.

Spring 2024 Information- March 18

Requirements for Participation and tryout/practice schedules listed below:

1. Physicals: A reminder to all freshmen and juniors, you will need a physical before try-outs to be able to start. Also, anyone who hasn't previously played a sport. A physical can’t be older than a year. Convenient Med is an option if you are unable to see your primary doctor.

2. Athletic Policy Meeting: Thursday, March 28 at 6:30pm in the large cafe for parents

3. Academic Eligibility:  Academic eligibility- Academic eligibility is initially determined by second quarter grades.  Third quarter grades in April will determine if an athlete remains on the team. An athlete must have an overall grade of a C- (1.7 GPA) or better in the second marking period. No student who has failed to pass in four units of work during the previous grading quarter shall represent the school in any interscholastic contest.  A minimum course load of five units per grading quarter is required for participation.  - A waiver process for academic eligibility must be filed with the athletic office in a timely fashion. A waiver may be granted under extenuating personal or educational circumstances.  Please contact the athletic office with further questions.

4.   Health Insurance - All student athletes must be enrolled in a health insurance plan to       participate on an athletic team. If an athlete does not have health insurance, the athletic director must be notified immediately so arrangements can be made for coverage during school sponsored athletic events.

5.    Arbitersports-  (formerly Family ID) is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. When you register through Arbitersports, the system keeps track of your information in your Arbitersports’ profile, so you enter your information only once for multiple uses, multiple family members and multiple programs. Please do not try to use your phone to enter information.

TRYOUT/PRACTICE SCHEDULE

The challenge in the spring is what is the weather going to do? The schedule for indoors is going to be different than the schedule for outdoors. IF weather permits and we can go outside, we will but if not, practices/tryouts will be inside. We will try to communicate changes as soon as possible. Athletes should have signed up with their coaches on REMIND so they will have the ability to communicate with their coach. Parents please be aware that the times listed are when practices will end. Please allow time for your child to get out to you if you are picking them up after practice.

 

SOFTBALL

Monday, March 18- Friday, March 22

Inside- 4:00-6:00pm, meet in the gym lobby at 3:45pm. Dress for practice, bring softball equipment (glove, sneakers, cleats, bat if you have one). Bring water.

Outside- 3:00-5:00 meet by the softball shed at 2:45pm. Dress in layers for practices, bring softball equipment.

The remainder of the schedule will be handed out during the first week.

BASEBALL

Monday, March 18- Tuesday, March 19

Grade 9 and Grade 10- 5:40pm-7:30pm- meet in the cafeteria. Every day, please dress for practice, bring baseball equipment (glove, sneakers, cleats, bat if you have one). Bring water.

Grade 11 and Grade 12- 7:20-9:00pm- meet in the cafeteria. Every day, please dress for practice, bring baseball equipment (glove, sneakers, cleats, bat if you have one). Bring water.

*Teams will be selected at the conclusion of Tuesday’s tryouts.

Wednesday, March 20

JV- 5:40-8:00pm-meet in the cafeteria. Practice will be in the gym from 6-8pm.

Varsity is going to the Dome- bus at 4pm. Practice is 5-7pm.

Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22

IF the weather is good, jv and varsity practices will be from 2:30-5:00pm. Otherwise it will be inside with jv from 5:40-7:30pm and varsity from 7:20-9:00pm.

The remainder of the schedule will be handed out during the first week.

BOYS AND GIRLS SPRING TRACK

Practices will begin on Monday, March 18 from 2:30-4:30pm. Practices will be Monday-Friday. Athletes should dress in layers for the weather. Please make sure you have a T-shirt, shorts, sweatpants, and sweatshirt. Bring water.

BOYS TENNIS

Monday, March 18, Tuesday, March 19, Wednesday, March 20, Friday, March 22

Indoors- 2:30-3:15pm- meet in the gym promptly at 2:20. Every day, please dress appropriately and bring your tennis racquet. Bring water.

Outdoors- 2:30-4:00pm. Meet on the tennis courts. Every day be prepared to be outside. Bring warm clothes.

Thursday, March 21

Indoors- 3:15-4:00pm- meet in the gym promptly at 3:15.  Outdoors will be 4:00-5:30. Meet on the tennis courts at 3:45pm. Every day, please dress appropriately and bring your tennis racquet. Bring water.

GIRLS TENNIS

GIRLS LACROSSE

The first two weeks of tryouts/practices will be held at New England Sports Center ( formerly the Sportszone) in Derry. All athletes must ride the bus to and from the Center. Every day athletes should bring lacrosse equipment and water.

Monday, March 18, Tuesday, March 19, Thursday, March 21- practice will be from 3:30-5pm. Bus at 3pm.

Wednesday, March 20 and Friday, March 22- practices will be from 3:00-4:30pm, bus at 2:30pm.
