Summer offerings are optional and open to any Alvirne student including incoming freshmen.

Requirements for Participation

  1. Physicals: A reminder to all incoming freshmen and juniors, you will need a physical before try-outs to be able to start. Also, anyone who hasn't previously played a sport. A physical can not be older than a year. Convenient Med is an option if you are unable to see your primary doctor.
  2. Athletic Policy Meeting: This meeting has been changed. It will now require parents to email the athletic director and ask for the zoom link to watch the athletic policy meeting. Once the video has been viewed, the parent should email the athletic director confirmation that the video has been watched. This pertains to any parent who has not previously attended or viewed a policy meeting.  
  3. Academic Eligibility:  Academic eligibility- In the fall, all incoming freshmen are academically eligible.  Upperclassmen must have an overall grade of a C- (1.7 GPA) or better in the first marking period immediately preceding the start of a listed activity. No student who has failed to pass in four units of work during the previous grading quarter shall represent the school in any interscholastic contest.  A minimum course load of five units per grading quarter is required for participation. Fourth quarter grades determine fall eligibility and summer school does not count towards eligibility.  Teacher aide, office aide, and driver education do not count as units when determining eligibility.
    Waiver of Academic Requirement - A waiver process for academic eligibility must be filed with the athletic office in a timely fashion. A waiver may be granted under extenuating personal or educational circumstances.  Please contact the athletic office with further questions.
  4. Health Insurance - All student athletes must be enrolled in a health insurance plan in order to participate on an athletic team. If an athlete does not have health insurance, the athletic director must be notified immediately so arrangements can be made for coverage during school sponsored athletic events.
  5. Family ID registration- Parents must register their child prior to participation. Athletes must be registered each season. Please have medical card and information regarding your child. Please have health care provider's information as well. Please click the link below to register:

GIRLS SOCCER

 The sessions will be held at Alvirne on the lower soccer field. Athletes should bring their cleats, shin guards and a water bottle.

Tryouts: Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 23 there will be double sessions.

Monday, August 19: First session is 7:30-9:00am, second session is 4:30-6:00pm

Tuesday, August 20: First session is 7:30-9:30am, Afternoon will be a home scrimmage at 4pm vs. Campbell HS.

Wednesday, August 21: First session is 7:30-9:00am, Team building activity in the afternoon, bus leaves at 3pm and returns at 8pm

Thursday, August 22: The first session is from 7:30-9:00am and in the afternoon there will be an away scrimmage at 2pm at Londonderry HS. Bus at 1pm

Friday, August 23: The first session is from 7:30-9:00am, second session is 4:30-6:00pm. Parent meeting at 6:15pm.

The week of August 26 practices will be from 4:30-6:00pm.

 


 

BOYS SOCCER

Tryouts: Monday, August 19 are from 9:30-11:00am, Tuesday, August 20 is a double session, first session is 8-9:30am and the second session is from 6:00-7:30pm. Wednesday, August 21 is a varsity scrimmage only at 11am vs. Somersworth. JV is a TBA. Thursday, August 22 is from 8:00-9:30am and second session is from 6-7:30pm, Friday, August 23 is a jv and varsity scrimmage at Alvirne vs. Londonderry at 4pm. The week of August 26 the practices will be from 4:30-6:00 for varsity. Junior varsity is a TBA.

Location: Lower soccer field- athletes should bring cleats, shin guards and water

Monday, August 19- practice/meetings 9:00am-12:00am,   meeting/practice 2:00-4:00pm- athletes may stay at school in between the two sessions

Tuesday, August 20- practice/meetings 9:00am-12:00am,   practice 2:00-4:00pm- athletes may stay at school in between the two sessions 

Wednesday, August 21-practice/meetings 9:00-12:00pm, practice 3:00-5:00pm, athletes may stay at school in between the two sessions.

Thursday, August 22- practice/meetings 9:00am-12:00am,   practice 2:00-4:00pm- athletes may stay at school in between the two sessions

Friday, August 23- practice for JV/Varsity 9:00-12:00pm, freshmen practice is from 11-2pm, practice 3:00-5:00pm, athletes may stay at school in between the two sessions.

Saturday, August 24 - scrimmage at Bishop Guertin at 10:00am, bus at 8:45am

IMPORTANT- FRESHMEN WILL PARTICIPATE IN MORNING SESSIONS ONLY

BASS FISHING

Meeting on Tuesday,  September 10th  Time: 2:15pm in the large cafeteria


GIRLS AND BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

  • meet by the flagpole behind the school

Fall Season Start Date Monday, August 19

  • Monday thru Friday- practices begin. no cuts. 3:00-4:30pm

Remaining schedule will be handed out during the first week.


GOLF

Tryouts Start: Monday, August 19

Monday, August 19 at World Cup Driving Range in Hudson from 8:00-10:00am. Tuesday, August 20 through Friday, August 23 at Whip Poor Will Golf Course- meet at 2:10pm at the golf course. Tryouts/practices will be from 2:30-5pm. Cuts may or may not be made. It will be based on how many tryout.

Please note that there is a fee associated with playing golf which covers the expense of practicing at the golf course. The fee is set based on the number of participants but the cost could range from $75-$100

CHEERLEADING

Tryouts: Wednesday, August 21, Thursday, August 22, and Friday, August 23 from 11:00-1:00pm. Teams will be selected after Friday's tryouts and practices will begin for both teams. Tryouts on Wednesday and Friday are at Alvirne and the tryout on Thursday is at Hudson Memorial School.

Varsity Choreography is Friday, September 6 from 4-8pm and Saturday, September 7 from 9-4pm at Alvirne

VOLLEYBALL

Tryouts begin  Monday, August 19 is everyone from 6:00-8:00pm,

Tuesday is upperclassmen from 9-11am ( potential varsity athletes), others are from 6-8pm.  

Wednesday, August 21 from 6:00-8:00pm. Teams will be selected after Wednesday tryouts and practices will begin. Thursday, August 22 varsity practice is from 11-1pm, JV and Freshmen will be off .  

Friday, August 23- varsity scrimmage at South at 2:30pm, bus leaves at 1:45pm, JV and Freshmen will be off.
