Turning the Corner Ceremony

Turning the Corner

Turning the Corner Ceremony

Hello Kindergarten Families,

This year, we will be having a “Turning the Corner” ceremony for Kindergarteners on Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12. This is similar to a graduation ceremony. Students will perform 2 songs and will be called up to receive a certificate. Students will be allowed to invite 2 family members to come.

The “Turning the Corner” dates are as follows, by teacher:

Tuesday, June 11: Miss Adams, Mrs. DeCicco, Miss Lindsay, Miss Peters, Ms. Naughton, Mrs. Richards

Wednesday, June 12: Mrs. Malizia, Miss Miller, Mrs. Moeckel, Miss Norcross, Miss White

We ask that each student bring no more than 2 family members for this event. Please return the attached RSVP sheet by Friday, May 31, if you plan on coming to the ceremony.

The ceremonies will begin promptly at 9:30 AM. Please arrive no earlier than 9:15 AM. Parking will be along School Street and in front of Dr. H.O. Smith, where the tennis courts used to be. Please use front entrance. We estimate the event will be about 30 minutes.

For the event attire, students should wear nice shirt and pants or shorts, or long skirt with leggings or bike shorts (for movement, pants/shorts are preferred). Students should dress nicely in clothing that is easy to move in. Our “Turning the Corner” song will have different movements so students should be able to move arms, legs, bend, crouch, sit, etc. It is highly recommended for students to wear sneakers for safety on the stage and risers. (Sneakers could be any color). Students should not wear shoes with high heels.

No tickets are required. Handicapped access is available at the front entrance.

These students are really excited to sing their songs for you, and they have worked so hard this year! We look forward to seeing you at Turning the Corner! If you have questions about the Music portion, please contact Miss Holder at kholder@sau81.org. If you have questions about guests, parking, or dismissal, please contact Principal Maguire at nmaguire@sau81.org or contact the main office at 603-886-1255.

Sincerely,

The Library Street School Staff
