FIRST GRADE MARCH NEWS

News from the Principal

The first grade students at Dr. H.O. Smith School have been busy during the Month of March.

We celebrated Read Across America Week from March 6th-10th.  The students and staff welcomed guest readers and had fun with activities and dressing up each day of the week.

The students and staff celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st with Rock Your Socks Day!  Staff and students wore mismatched socks to celebrate and spread awareness. 

The Teacher Workshop/Voting Day was changed from March 14th to March 28th due to snow day. Students will not have school on Tuesday, March 28th.

Information was sent home to each family regarding Special Friend’s Day in April. On this day, the children beam with pride as they show their Special Friend(s) their classroom, where they sit and what they have done in school.  Such a fun event for all! The schedule for Special Friend’s Day is as follows:

April 4th – Mrs. Breen, Mrs. Holt, Mrs. Luppi, and Mrs. Pulaski – 9:30-11:00

April 5th – Mrs. Bergstrom, Mrs. Kelley, Mrs. Mastacouris, and Mrs. Wise – 9:30-11:00

April 6th – Miss Anselmo, Mrs. Dane, Mrs. Neish and Mrs. Tremblay – 9:30 – 11:00
