Autism Speaks


This agency helps to connect families with information, tools, and agency referrals. They have a resource guide on their website that includes a listing of private providers that can provide services, diet information, books/toys, and a variety of other resources specific to autism. In addition they have tool kits which provide you information on various subject areas (example: how to make the dentist a successful experience, dealing with challenging behaviors, strategies for sleep….). They also have resources in regards to insurance, and New Hampshire Law related to Autism.

Gateways has a variety of programs for children with developmental disabilities, and their families. They have Home Based ABA services, Case Coordination, Respite Care (family can also be reimbursed approximately $50 a month), and sometimes can provide reimbursement for workshops or trainings for families. There are no financial eligibility guidelines.

AUsome Adventures (sensory group)

This group is being run through the Center for Life Management in Derry, NH, and was developed for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It will focus on developing sensory awareness through active play with a goal to improve sensory functioning. This group is for children ages 7-10 and can be billed to insurance. It’s a six week sensory group which will begin December 5, 2015.

The Network

The Network is a monthly social networking program (currently they meet Wednesday nights from 6-7:30) for “high functioning” ASD young adults. The attendees range in age from about 15-25 years. The goal is for these young adults to meet others with ASD who they may have things in common with, and of whom they can connect with. The group has different activities each month (community activities..). The cost is $75 per year and includes an informal parent support group where parents meet during the group.

REC Provides Year-round ABA programs, seven days a week, serving children ages 3-22. Programs offered include: after school/extended day, weekends, summer programs, an intensive early learning program and school holidays and vacations. They are able to accept most major insurances.

Autism Intervention Specialists

Autism Intervention Specialists provide in home ABA therapy to families of autistic children. Some of these children are then referred to social groups, but they must be receiving ABA therapy. They do not provide additional services, or respite. Autism Intervention Specialists are able to bill most insurance, and also take private pay.
