Alvirne Choral Students Sing from Home

During the school shutdown caused by the Coronavirus, Alvirne choral students were still able to create beautiful music together. Mr. Mike Gallagan, the choral director at Alvirne High School, had his students record their parts individually, and he compiled them into one recording using GarageBand software in order to create this "virtual choir." Nottingham West Choral Students Collaborate on a Music Video

Kirsten Mohring, the choral director at Nottingham West Elementary School, asked her students to reflect on one of the songs they had been rehearsing, We All Need Peace. Knowing they would not be able to perform the Spring Concert this year, she still wanted to find a way to share the talents of her students with the community. Students chose a word that they felt embodied the meaning of the song, then created an art project with that word. The video below is a compilation of the student artwork and the song (not performed by the students). The song has a powerful meaning during these hard times.
