Class of 1978

Our 30th Year Class Reunion is scheduled for Saturday evening, September 6, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel, Spit Brook Road, Nashua, NH. It was formally the Sheraton Tara Hotel. It is not a sit down meal but rather a buffet style serving stations. There will be hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a pasta station, a carving station, dessert station, and beverage station. We are still looking for a DJ and a photographer. If there is someone you know or could recommend please forward this information to me.

We would like to have a “Memory Book” style program at the reunion which can be mailed to anyone unable to attend. Please send pictures, now and then if you would like; a current picture of you and/or your family, high school photos, vacation photos, family photos, baby pictures, letters, poems, school stories, newspaper articles, anything special, fun, or a memory you would like to share to alvirneclassof1978@verizon.net or mail to Anne Marshall 18 Federal Street, Hudson, NH 03051. You can e-mail as much information as you would like about yourself, family, business, hobbies, adventures, etc. for our “1978 - 2008 Memories Book.” If you choose to mail any photos I will gladly scan them in and return the originals to you.

The reunion also needs added financial support through advertisements, messages, and/or memory notes which will be included in the Memory Book. We have to pay a minimum cover charge at the Sheraton regardless of how many people attend the D.J., and hopefully a photographer. I am trying to keep the ticket prices down making it affordable for as many classmates as possible to attend. The Memory Book will be printed on 81/2” x 11” paper. The cost for an ad is $20 for 1⁄4 page, $40 for 1⁄2 page, $60 for 2/3 page and $80 for a full page. This will defray the costs and hopefully leave some money in the account for the next reunion. The ad information can be e-mailed or mailed to me at the above address. Please mail the checks to my address and I will send you or the company a receipt of purchase.

We will also be holding a raffle at the reunion. Please let me know if you have or work for a business that would like to donate a raffle gift, gift card, or service. Other ideas for raffles are custom beading, scrap-booking, bottles of wine, etc. The more money we raise, the more we can do at this and future reunions.

I’d love to follow the reunion with Sunday Brunch at Checkers Restaurant. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the extent of the vocational area of the school, they have a wonderful restaurant on school property. It is run by chef, Tim Buxton, also an Alvirne graduated. I have been to their Sunday holiday brunches and they are very good. I thought it would be a nice idea to have a casual breakfast the next day. This would run for several hours and people could come and go as they please. *** If you are interested, please let me know by August 16th to allow time to make the arrangements with Chef Buxton.***

Class of 1959 (... and '60, '58, '57, '56)

Once again the Alvirne High Fab Five is having a reunion. the classes of 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960, are joining together for the class of 1959's 50th reunion. To be held September 18, 19, and 20, 2009, at the Holiday Inn of Nashua. On Friday Sept 18, 2009, the athletic director of Alvirne has agreed to have something and sponsor it. So we will return to Alvirne for an evening.
