Dear Parents,

As you know, the Hudson School District Calendar provides for two Teacher Inservice Days during the school year when no students will be in school. Those days are Wednesday, January 27 and Wednesday, March 24.

In addition to those days, students will be released early on Tuesday, January 26 and Tuesday, March 23, while teachers extend their day. Alvirne High School will release students at 11:20 am on January 26 and March 23; Hudson Memorial School students will be released at 11:30 am; and elementary school students will be released at 12:30 pm. There will be no afternoon sessions of kindergarten or preschool on these two early release days.

There will be no impact on the rest of the school year, as we will still meet all State standards for instructional time. It will provide the district's teachers two extended periods of time to meet together, develop curriculum, and work on cooperative instructional strategies. We expect students will benefit from this time allocated to our teachers.
