School District Assessment
The Hudson School District has released the results of this year's NWEA Measures of Annual Progress and NECAP scores for grades 3-8 along with other assessment measures from Alvirne High School. The District is proud of the growth that students are making and are encouraged to see that the new elementary reading program is beginning to show results. During the 2010-2011 school year, fifth grade students will be introduced to the Scott Foresman program with the final year of adoption in 2011-2012 for sixth grade. The district has also been working on a curriculum re-write in social studies and mathematics and hopes to add a mathematics textbook adoption to the 2011-2012 school budget. With the extensive professional development with Professor Mahesh Sharma and the new curriculum and text, the district is hoping to see similar growth as seen in language arts.
The New Hampshire Department of Education has adopted the national core standards and Hudson is busy making sure that our curriculum is aligned with these new targets. The state anticipates that in 2011-2012 the NECAP will be revamped to a national assessment. While this will certainly make it impossible for the district to compare previous district performance with this new assessment, it will tell us how Hudson is competing nationally and in comparison to the new standards.
